At just 16, while sitting her own GCSEs, Brightmore founder Rai-Elle Williams became a quarter-finalist on The X Factor, performing live in front of millions.
That experience taught her first-hand that preparation alone isn’t enough. When the pressure is on, confidence, mindset and the ability to perform can make all the difference.
That philosophy now sits at the heart of Brightmore. Students are supported by experienced GCSE tutors, including examiners, who understand the curriculum, exam technique and what it takes to turn knowledge into marks.
Meet the co-founder
He Didn’t Need More Pressure. He Needed Teaching That Finally Made Sense.
Brightmore co-founder Jaden Hinds knows what it feels like to sit in a classroom, struggle to connect with the way you’re being taught, and slowly start believing the problem is you.
He became overwhelmed, disengaged and expected to fail — until his parents found a tutor who explained things in a way he understood, pushed him and believed in him.
The result: Jaden went from expecting to fail to passing his GCSEs.
That experience shaped how Brightmore teaches today. Rai-Elle understands how to build confidence and perform under pressure. Jaden understands what it feels like when the teaching simply isn’t clicking.
Together, they built Brightmore around both sides of the student experience: understanding the content and having the confidence to deliver when it matters.

Who is Brightmore for? +
Brightmore is designed for Year 10 and Year 11 students who are capable of more than their current grades suggest — whether they’re struggling academically or sitting at Grade 4s and 5s when they have the potential to reach 7s, 8s or 9s. We look beyond the grade itself to identify what’s actually holding them back.
Which subjects does Brightmore cover? +
Our core GCSE support focuses on Maths, English and Science. Depending on the programme, students receive structured teaching, exam-technique support, progress tracking and personalised guidance designed to close gaps and turn what they know into more marks.
What if my child isn’t failing? +
They don’t need to be. Many Brightmore students are already passing — the problem is that their results don’t reflect what they’re capable of. If your child is stuck at a 4 or 5 despite having the potential for significantly higher grades, our job is to identify the gap between where they are and where they could be — then help them close it.
What if confidence is the real issue? +
That’s exactly why Brightmore goes beyond traditional tutoring. Poor results are often caused by a combination of knowledge gaps, weak exam technique, low confidence, inconsistent habits and limited accountability. We work on the academic and personal side together so your child becomes more confident, consistent and able to perform when the pressure is on.
What if my child doesn’t like group tuition? +
The right support depends on the student. Brightmore offers different levels of support, including programmes that combine live group teaching with personalised 1:1 mentorship, as well as more targeted options. During your Parent Strategy Call, we’ll understand how your child learns and recommend the programme that best fits their needs.
How does the grade-improvement guarantee work? +
Our qualifying programmes include a grade-improvement guarantee, measured using mock assessments at the beginning and end of the programme. For our VIP programme, your child aims to improve by 2 grades across Maths, English and Science. If they meet the programme requirements but don’t achieve that improvement, we continue tutoring them at no extra cost until they do. Students must attend all sessions and reschedules, complete homework on time and submit their weekly feedback forms for the guarantee to apply.
What happens on the Parent Strategy Call? +
We’ll look at where your child is now, where they could be, and what’s currently stopping them from getting there. We’ll discuss their grades, knowledge gaps, exam technique, confidence and study habits before determining whether Brightmore is the right fit and which level of support would give them the best chance of improving. There’s no obligation to enrol simply because you book a call.
